Amazons Drones Can Now Deliver New Categories of Devices Like iPhone AirPods and More
Gone are the days of lame waiting by the mailbox. Amazon’s drone delivery aspirations are taking flight, expanding from the realm of everyday essentials to tech gadgets that are hot on the market. Prime Air has just been promoted to dropping packages within the hour; be prepared for iPhones, Apple devices, and Galaxy phones to fall out of the sky from Amazon’s MK30 drones, which gently lower prized tech gizmos from around 13 feet up, giving a whole new meaning to same-day delivery in some areas. The future is here, and it is humming with anticipation.
Amazon Upgrades Prime Air Drone Delivery
Amazon’s drone delivery dreams sound somewhat ambitious. Strap in as the FAA has just blessed Prime Air for expansion-level operations. It is no longer waiting; you can now visualize a drone zipping away from the sky with your brand-new iPhone in its claw. At this time, there are already above 60,000 items ready to undergo drone delivery, and the list is growing. High-tech deliveries being pushed at a velocity: new iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones, AirTags if you could find them, AirPods for the sound, Ring doorbells for extra security, and maybe even a Hi-Tech Meat Thermometer for the Grill Champ. The future is here, and it is being delivered by drones.
Imagine: In not more than an hour, your package would be delivered by a rocket drone or a flying truck, landing anywhere inside your yard! That’s what Amazon drone delivery promises you! If you are somewhere in the qualifying service area, and your shipment is under 5 pounds, just go for the drone delivery option at checkout. Options seem endless: lay it on the driveway, front lawn, wherever! Hurry and get that package!
In the future, Amazon envisions this: you place an online order; within minutes, the drone zips up in the air and gently deposits the package on your doorstep. The drones are smart, able to calculate flight paths and delivery schedules from the moment you hit “buy.” An estimated delivery window would appear just like an apparition. But calamities do arise in the best laid plans. Should your delivery be suddenly grounded by weather or other chance event, Amazon will inform you of why your package is taking a detour.
If you were to imagine a future where parcels drifted gently; as though the wind alone would carry them down or actually land them on some landing pad or barcode fixed-on: these drones equipped with MK30 are bringing that imagination to reality. Gone are the days where an in-the-yard QR code is a must. The autonomous delivery drones will have onboard computers that navigate to the delivery location on a set zone, free of trees and buildings. The package will descend, hovering some 13 feet above the ground, and out comes the precious cargo. I dare say it is delivery reborn, made simpler and simply super cool.
It is not true that Prime Air provides deliveries in all weather. Before taking flight, a drone needs to go past sophisticated weather forecasting, during which a 75-minute weather forecast, in advance, as a conditioned gatekeeper, filters out if suitable weather shall be projected in the coming hour for making deliveries.
Currently, Amazon provides drone deliveries to select areas in Texas and Arizona.
