Anthropic Reportedly Working on a Claude Cowork-Like Feature for iOS
Claude’s mobile app is said to be under the development of anthropic, which has been working on a new feature for his own company. According to the report, the feature is dubbed Claude Tasks and it is said to be about automation. This feature is reportedly similar to the company’s desktop automation tool, Claude Cowork. In the iOS version of the app, Tasks were reported to be seen in tasks but it could also soon be developed for Android later. This is alleged use of the artificial intelligence (AI) tool, which allows users to set up lightweight automation on their device and enable cross-platform automation by connecting with Claude Cowork.
Anthropic Reportedly Developing Claude Tasks
The report by a TestingCatalog has revealed that Anthropic is planning to bring the automation capabilities of Claude Cowork into smartphones with an ‘Tasks’ feature. It was spotted in a new iOS build of the Claude app via new user interface (UI) traces by the publication, which is part of ‘the tool’ that has been used for constructing the application. A new entry in the app menu called Tasks is shown, as well with a dedicated Task’ page and an official Task-page on the evidence.
reportedly the naming convention and iconography of the new feature is similar to Claude Cowork, suggesting that its functionality may also be very similar. In addition to this, it is reportedly described as having the ability to create repeatable actions with one prompt; also mentions that its use cases are similar to those of Claude Cowork.
It has revealed that there are more features, including the ability to run a browser on strings of code found in the publication. Sadly, it seems Anthropic is only planning this for iOS. Whether the feature will also be available on Android later is not clear, however, as it may have been announced by .
The information suggests that the tool will serve two functions, based on the details. First it introduces artificial intelligence-driven agentic automation for smartphone applications, allowing even those who do not actively or regularly use a desktop to access device-wide automation. Nevertheless, the full scope of Claude Tasks is not clear as permissions in iOS and Android work differently than those on a Windows desktop.
Secondly, the feature also expands Claude Cowork to more devices and could later be the key to cross-platform and cross device automation that will soon lead to Cross-device automation. But to be sure, it should be noted that Anthropic has not announced any of the abovementioned details and until its official release is taken with a pinch of salt.
