Apple Arcade’s March Update Brings Oceanhorn 3: Legend of the Shadow Sea and Other Titles

Apple Arcade announced on Tuesday that Oceanhorn 3 Legend of the Shadow Sea will be available exclusively next month for its first season-long release in September next year, releasing Ocean Horn 3. The most awaited chapter of the action-RPG-adventure franchise, which is developed by Cornfox & Brothers, is nearly 2,000 years after Oceanhorn 2 Knights of Los Realm’s events and has been described as “the new chapter” in the popular action–RPM-AdVENTure series. Apple has cited the title as one of the most important additions to Apple Arcade’s March lineup, making it an iconic RPG experience for the platform.

Oceanhorn 3 and Other New Titles on Apple Arcade

Apple announced that in a newsroom post, “At the beginning March 5” will be available for Oceanhorn 3 to play on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro and Apple TV via Apple Arcade. Designed to provide console-quality visuals and support for controllers on compatible devices, it will also be an option that provides console quality graphics with the ability to use controller. The game is launched without ads or in-app purchases as part of the Apple Arcade subscription service, which will not be available for purchase.

According to Developer Cornfox & Brothers, the action-RPG-adventure will continue the series’ action role playing formula and blends real-time combat, puzzle-solving and exploration across a vast fantasy world. The game is set a thousand years after the events of Oceanhorn 2 Knights of the Lost Realm, as players once again explore Gaia’s world with re-emerging threat from the mysterious Shadow Sea.

In Oceanhorn 3, the combat system and larger environments are emphasized by an advanced form of warfare (as well as at sea) with improved traversal options. According to the developer, naval exploration is a central part of the Oceanhorn experience as it pertains to naval research. Players can sail through open waters, find islands and discover hidden secrets of the sea.

Developer Cornfox & Brothers has also teased expanded dungeons and boss encounters designed for Apple hardware.

Apart from Oceanhorn 3, Apple said it was also ‘announcing the imminent arrival of several more titles on Apple Arcade in March’. Pocket Love!+ is a life simulator where players and their partners can move into ‘home with their favourite pet’; Flow Free+, the popular puzzle game that connects matching colours with pipes (and Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story+), which allows them to run – sweets shop with famous manga character DoraneMON.

Those titles, which are also known as the “aforementioned names”, will likely be coming with Oceanhorn 3 as part of the iPhone maker’s periodic content refresh next month.
