Apple Vision Pro Finally Gets an Official YouTube App With Up to 8K Video Playback
During 2023, Apple’s first mixed-reality headset (augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality(VR) capabilities were introduced backwards with the introduction of Apple Vision Pro. Google has officially launched a dedicated YouTube app for Apple’s visionOS platform, two years after the launch of the mixed reality headset. In the latest, users can watch their favorite content via a theatre-style virtual screen. Apple Vision Pro users have had to use the Web version of YouTube until now through Safari or third-party apps. A new app has as many as 8K video playback for up to 8k videos.
YouTube’s Native VisionOS App Is Here
YouTube is formally developing a native app for the Apple Vision Pro. In VisionOS, users can access the YouTube video library through this update. It supports standard YouTube videos, Shorts and has a spatial tab to view the 3D, 360-degree and VR180 content on its new app. Users of Apple Vision Pro can also see their subscriptions, playlists and watch history as well as other account features.
However, it confirmed that the company’s YouTube for VisionOS app allows 8K video playback on the newer versions of its latest Vision Pro models with Apple’ m5 chip. YouTube The video is front and centre, but the surrounding environment fades away; it creates a more “lean-back” viewing experience.

From its beginning price tag is $3,499 (roughly Rs. 3 07 lakh) It is claimed that the newer version will provide up to three hours of video playback time on one charge. It claims Apple is pursuing an affordable Vision Pro model with toned-down specs. Later this year, it could be a model for to launch this model.
