Arc Raiders New Headwinds Update Releases January 27 Four-Month Content Roadmap Revealed
The new big update is coming on January 27, as hit extraction shooter Arc Raiders, from Embark Studios, kick off the four-month update roadmap released last week. A new vs squads matchmaking option, a new project to earn rewards, another minor map condition and more are added in the latest update called Headwinds The first of these is ‘the solo versus squad-matchmaking service’.
A January 27 Headwinds update will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X users with the release of the headwind’s on January 27,. The update is the first major version of the game to introduce new gameplay features and map conditions since December’s Cold Snap update that brough snow-covered maps, new cosmetics and more.
Arc Raiders’ Headwinds Update Features
Arc Raiders’ Headwinds update will add a solo vs squads matchmaking option for players above level 40 to the list of matches that are available on Arca RaiDERs. In a squads lobby, the teams of players who are eligible will be able to queue up alone and take on teams or players for an extra challenge. The Headwinds update will also include a new player project called Trophy Display, which will be added to the game. In the project, as they kill more Arc robots, players will be able to progress through levels and unlock rewards while playing with them.
A minor map condition, Bird City, is also a feature of the new update, which has been called Bird city. Part of this will be a Buried City map in Arc Raiders, which contains secret treasured loot in chimneys as part of the condition.
Finally, the Headwinds update will add the Sandwalker Set cosmetic set.
Arc Raiders Content Roadmap
The Escalation roadmap for Arc Raiders was revealed last week by Embark Studios, which details major updates to the game from January to April 2026. A new map, maps, conditions or other changes to the game will be made in the four-month content roadmap that will bring a new enemy, condition and other elements of the series.
Following the Headwinds update in January, Arc Raiders will receive the Shrouded Sky update (February) with a new map condition, new ArC threat, player project, newly launched raider deck and re-updated map update.
Flashpoint update Embark Studios will release the Flash point update, which is yet another map condition in March with Arc threat, player project and Scrappy update. Eventually in April, the Riven Tides update will add a new full map to Arc Raiders with ‘a brand new big arc robot and re-map condition’.
