Axis Bank Introduces Aadhaar Face Authentication: How to Update Your Axis Bank Mobile Number

In a new feature, Axis Bank has launched allowing customers to update their registered mobile number by Aadhaar-based face authentication on its mobile banking app. Updates are completely online, and can be done without going to a branch. After A live facial scan linked to the aadhaar-related AaDhaara, users must confirm that they are using ‘the user’ and then OTP confirmation. Bank said it is designed to simplify a routine account update while maintaining identity verification through Aadhaar-based authentication.

A. new feature has been introduced by Axis Bank that allows customers to update their registered mobile number with Aadhaar-based face authentication on its mobile banking app, which is available through Aamhas Bank’s own smartphone bank account. According to the bank, “the process is completely online and allows users not to visit a branch for change.” This also provides a service-based option for ‘work that usually requires in person verification of the job’.

To update the mobile number, users need to follow these steps on the Axis Bank Open app:

1. Type in the new mobile number you want to register.
2. Open the AadhaarFaceRD app, which is available on the Play Store.
3. Complete Aadhaar-based face authentication by capturing a live image using the front camera.
4. Enter the one-time password sent to the new mobile number to confirm the update.

Axis Bank said the feature uses Aadhaar face authentication to verify a user’s identity by matching – with records stored in the Aamdhara database, if it matches. A further precaution, the bank said that “the limits of mobile banking transaction are temporarily reset to default levels for the first 24 hours after the number is updated and user logs in again.”

The bank also said the service is a self-service option on its mobile app, while customers can still use branch support when needed.
