The events led up to Bluepoint’s closure were described by Jason Schreier in his Bloomberg newsletter published Saturday. The studio, which Sony acquired in 2021, also supported Santa Monica on God of War Ragnarok and later moved on to developing a live service God Of War project greenlit as part of Sony’s games-as-an-As–a-service push for the studio.
According to the report, the game would have been based on Kratos’ son Atreus as he fell into Greek hell, Hades and battled his way out through world. It is said that the live service game included a cooperative gameplay component in the play. Bluepoint, however, lacked the project, according to report. During the larger breakaway from its faltering live service strategy, Sony cancelled the live broadcast God of War game in January 2025 as it was cancelling the play’s live services.
After pitching a Bloodborne remake in early 2025, Bluepoint said the numbers were ‘made sense’ but FromSoftware did not want the remake to be made, according to the report which claimed sources familiar with the issue.

The game has not been patched to improve performance on the PS5 as it continues with a playable . Bloodborne has also not been ported to other sites. Bloodborne has been one of the greatest games ever played by s, and is among the best games in history.
