Forza Horizon 6 Gameplay Cars and Features Revealed; Release Date Confirmed
The next Playground Games Open World arcade driver, Forza Horizon 6, is coming out on March 19 on PC and Xbox Series S/X. The studio gave a detailed look at the game Thursday, with footage from Xbox Developer Direct about the gameplay and how it was played in Japan as well as what’s going on. Additionally, Playground Games confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 would launch on PS5 in 2026.
At the September Tokyo Game Show, Forza Horizon 6 was given a long look at the Developer Direct broadcast after First revealed at Tokyo Games Show that it had been an extended version of . The Horizon Festival is now heading to Japan, and players will begin as a tourist in the game, slowly building up their racing credentials. As players compete in the qualifiers, they will enter the Horizon Festival and then rise through ranks and unlock wristbands as they compete at races across Japan.

‘Largest Map Yet’
The largest open world map in the Forza Horizon series is Japan,” Playground Games and Turn10 Studios confirmed, citing playground games and turn10 studios. A wide-ranging map will include diverse biomes, separate districts and seasonal changes. The ensuing city of Tokyo will also be the largest city in a Forza Horizon game, with five times larger than the map in Forzan Horizon 5 (the world’s largest cities ever).

The cars also react with the world, wearing wear and tear over time. In the game, as well as 540 degrees of wheel rotation, the developer has also released new steering animations with up to 530 degrees rotating wheels.

Forza Horizon 6 New Features
As well as collecting wristbands to make players up the ranks, players will also be given access to a new feature called the Collection Journal. In a reference to Japan’s history of stamp collecting, the Journal will allow players to create – in part – elaborate dozens of mementos found across Japan.
Besides the rich list of cars players will also be able to unlock houses in Forza Horizon 6 like previous games in the series. In Japan, there are eight player houses that serve as fast travel points and garages where you can customise your cars. Players can decorate the space to their own and make it a full-size replica of s.
The new addition to the game is called the Estate, a larger piece of land that players can acquire and customise as they want. Players can slowly build upon and decorate the Estate as it begins with an abandoned property in rural Japan, which players will gradually re-open.

Car Meets, based on events such as the Daikoku car meet in Japan, will also be featured for Forza Horizon 6 and are inspired by event themes like Forzan Horizon 6. Three Car Meets locations in the open world will be added to the game, with players gathering and displaying their wheels to friends online. The players can also meet other player online here and begin off on a convoy across Japan. At the meet, they can download custom paint jobs and designs to buy their own version of a car.
Playground and Turn10 said Forza Horizon 6 will be the most accessible game in the series so far, with a deep suite of accessibility features that all types of players are happy with the game.
The studios also revealed the two cover cars for Forza Horizon 6 the 2025 GR GT Prototype and the 225 Toyota Land Cruiser.
In PC (through Steam and Xbox app on Windows) Forza Horizon 6 will be released, with Xbox Series S/X on May 19 and for the first time in a year. On Game Pass Ultimate, it is day one. Playground confirmed that PS5 would soon see the racing title hit this year, adding ‘It will be an exciting time for me to get on my race card. A new feature is Forza Horizon 6 which can be wishlisted on PS5 via pre-order across supported platforms.
Standard, Deluxe and Premium Editions will have the game. Four-day early access will be granted to four days from May 15 when it is pre-ordering the Premium Edition.
