Google Rolls Out AI Mode Agentic Features in India Enables Restaurant Booking via Search
Announcing the launch of agentic capabilities in AI Mode, Google on Friday said it was “willing to be launching” for India’s newer AI mode. In the new update, it allows you to find and book restaurant reservations directly through Search. But according to the tech giant, based in Mountain View, it is designed to achieve a practical use case by helping users complete real-world tasks more efficiently. The new agentic capabilities, Google says, can handle multi-step queries and reduce the effort required to search through platforms manually.
Agentic Abilities Now Available in AI Mode for Users in India
After the update, AI Mode can process detailed restaurant booking requests by understanding multiple constraints, the company explained in a press note. Such as party size, date and time location or place of the celebrations – all about food. In real-time, the system scans several sources for appropriate options instead of a single app and website.
The feature allows Google to see live availability across platforms, compile results and display a list of restaurants that meet the user’s requirements. It provides direct links to booking pages if the results are as desired, so users can complete reservations without further steps. This alleged efficiency of booking restaurant reservations is said to be the single-step interaction that it has become one step in its overall workflow, which can also be described as “a simple process”.
Powered by Google’s Knowledge ‘Graph, Map integration and live web browsing capabilities from Project Mariner as well as direct partner integrations are also the source of the experience. The tech giant is working with platforms such as Zomato, Swiggy and EazyDiner in India to enable this functionality.
The country is now introducing the restaurant reservation service, which advocates for further use cases and integrations to be added in the future.
Google’s plan to scale up its Gemini-powered AI ecosystem in India, which is a model for the introduction of the new agentic capabilities, follows that “Given this strategy” has been used by leading global companies like Google.
