How to Turn Off Active Status on Instagram Using Different Methods
Instagram’s active status feature allows you to see a real-time activity on the photo and video sharing site. Although you can see how long it has been since your friend opened the app, some users are under pressure to respond to direct messages (DMs) from friends who can view that they are online. However, thankfully, the Meta-owned platform allows you to completely disable the Active Status (i.e. scroll away and not worry about who knows that you are online).
I’m looking to spend less time on Instagram. If you disable your active status, it will allow you to get messages without worrying if my friend saw you online. A single device can disable Active status; when you log in, the setting will automatically be turned off.
Why You Might Want to Disable Active Status on Instagram
If your Active Status setting is enabled and others can see a green dot that shows when you’re “online”, then it may be slightly pressured to respond to DM from instagram by if they are on Instagram, as does any other messaging platform like Facebook or Twitter which says I am online. In the app, you have to manually turn off this feature by default so that it is automatically turned on and enters Instagram’s settings menu in the apps.
Upon you disable your Active Status, your friends will no longer see when you are using the app. Whenever you last used Instagram at your own pace, you can reply to messages as well as search for people’s photos. Keeping in mind that when you disable the setting, you will not be able to see other users’ Active Status.
