Marathon Releases March 5 Across Steam PS5 Xbox Series S/X; Pre-Orders Now Live

The most awaited extraction shooter, Marathon, from Bungie, will be released on March 5, 2026. The release date was confirmed and pre-order details for the multiplayer title were confirmed on Monday by Sony-owned studios, which announced the launch date. After its initial September 2025 release date, Marathon was a long-held pre-ordered option that could now be purchased in Steam and PS5 as well as Xbox Series S/X.

Bungie also released a new gameplay trailer for Marathon alongside the announcement, which introduced’Gantry (an agent of the MIDA faction in the game) another character.

The PvPVE sci-fi extraction shooter Marathon is located in Tau Ceti IV on the planet of Mars, where “Runners” compete to collect valuable loot. Players also have to complete contracts for each of the six factions of this game and find lost audio and text logs during their runs so that players can slowly unlock Marathon’s story.

Of course, it is about the gameplay of first-person shooting players compete to survive in a hostile environment against AI-controlled enemies and other players looking for loot.

In the latest announcement, Bungie also confirmed that Marathon’s English-language voice cast was a part of the new announcement. It will feature some of the most popular voices in video games such as Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Jennifer English (Clair Obscur Expedition 33), Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI) and Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex Human Revolution). Bungie confirmed marathon will also have full-localised dialogue for all supported languages,.

Marathon Pre-Order Details

There will also be Marathon in a Standard Edition, deluxe edition and Collector’s Edition. Players in-game rewards will be awarded to players on Marathon and Destiny 2 when they pre-order the Standard Edition.

In addition to all Standard Edition benefits, the Deluxe Edition includes weapon and Runner shell cosmetics, a premium rewards pass voucher (and in-game currency) and an individual credit card.

Collector’s Edition includes a 1/6-scale Thief (Atrocit) Thierf Runner Shell statue, collectible miniature WEAVEworm; embroidered patch; postcards and digital rewards; and more.
