Nintendo Will Reportedly Host a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase Next Week

A Nintendo Direct presentation is said to be planned for February, and it will also reportedly host a NintendoDirect show by Nintendo’s . An industry source said that the Switch maker will return with the first full-fledged Direct broadcast of 2026 as soon as next week. The event will be reportedly part of a Partner Showcase, where third-party developers show future games on Nintendo’s console platforms.

Partner Showcase Planned for February

This information comes from well-known insider NateTheHate, who has a history of accurate reporting on gaming industry. A video devoted to the Nintendo Switch 2 predictions for 2026, which was recently updated with footage of Nintendo’s “sometime in February” and said Nintendo would be hosting a Direct livestream “some time” live stream.

According to sources, the first Direct of 2026 will be held during the opening week of February and expects to be broadcast on Thursday, February 5’ from what I have heard.

On X, later on the tipster specified the format of the Nintendo Direct presentation, saying that it will be a Partner Showcase.

Game titles from third-party developers are also available at Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase events, where games from Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 will be played. A final partner showcase, hosted on July 2025 was the last Partner Showcase where games such as Star Wars Outlaws, Cronos The New Dawn, Yakuza Kiwami & YaKuzakiwam 2, and Octopath Traveler 0 were shown for the Switch 2.

Nintendo has not yet confirmed its plans for a Direct showcase in February.

The company also hosted a Direct presentation of Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, which was released on Nintendo Switch on April 16, 2026, this week to promote social simulation game To ModachiLife living the dream.

Fans of Nintendo have been awaiting an official release for a full-time version of the game, which will likely unveil major first-party games to the Switch 2 in 2026 including the highly anticipated next Super Mario game.

The final full Nintendo Direct, held in December 2025, was when the Japanese company posted updates on Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave, Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Smash Galaxy 2, among other first-party games.
