OpenAI to Begin Testing Ads in ChatGPT Says Responses Will Not Be Influenced

ChatGPT is now receiving advertisements officially confirmed by OpenAI, which has formally confirmed that ads are coming to the channel. San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) giant said Friday that it will soon be testing ads on its chatbot platform. These ads will initially be tested in the US only, but it is likely that the company will continue to expand these ads everywhere once testing ends. This comes just months after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman reportedly declared red code, telling staff that any non-ChatGPT projects should be “indefinitely paused” and said it was in the news.

A X (formerly Twitter) post on a topic in which the official OpenAI handle said ‘In the next few weeks we will be testing ads in ChatGPT free and Go tiers. Moreover, in a blog post the company described principles and how it is working to put ads on the site.

The company has formulated four key principles about ads, OpenAI said in a statement. First, the answers in ChatGPT will be independent of advertisements; and second, ads will always be separate from the answer and clearly labelled. Finally, the AI giant will not launch ads for the ChatGPT Plus and Pro as well as Enterprise & Business customers.
