CD Projekt Red Delays Cyberpunk 2077 Update 23 Says Patch Will Similar in Scope to Previous One

Cyberpunk 2077 fans brace yourselves. CD Projekt Red has put the final brakes on Update 2.3, relegating it into the limbo of “when it’s ready” for release. Previously set for a June 26 release alongside the game’s debut on Switch 2, Update 2.3 now finds itself trapped somewhere in development limbo.

Though CD Projekt Red refuses to go on record about particular additions, they do indicate that it will be roughly the size of the Update 2.2 upgrades. Think deeper character customizations, enhanced photo mode features, and possibly various other gameplay alterations aimed at polishing up the Night City experience. So, the waiting continues; hopefully, the polish will be worth the wait.

This sentence can be split into shorter ones for greater readability. In my opinion, it flows better this way while remaining faithful to its overall content.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Delayed

The developer’s unfortunate confirmation on Monday’s X-posts, admitting delay, kept gamers guessing on a new launch date.

“The launch of Update 2.3 has been pushed back: June 26 was the planned date. This is just like putting the final polish on something really special: we want an epic content drop to take place, as was Update 2.2! Until then, hold on. We will share the release date very soon.”

Update 2.3 of Cyberpunk 2077, previously cloaked in mystery earlier this month, now promises to be a game-changer, delivering some hefty punches that threaten to dramatically lend more improvements to the game.

In other words, Night City has yet again escalated the status of the #1 city in the world. December 2024 saw the launch of Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.2 across PCs and consoles with an explosion of new additions. Now, V has even more customization options and could look better than ever. Your rides? Forget about it pimped to fifty. But that’s not all, choomba; Night City awaits you for that gritty capture in a new photo mode. Meanwhile, be prepared for a significant upgrade. Your chats with Johnny Silverhand are going to become much more… intimate.

It seems update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 is being pushed with the crowning of a REDstreams event purportedly celebrating the Nintendo Switch 2 launch slated for June 5. The update is in the hands of associate game director Pawel Sasko at CD Projekt Red.

Keeping with the launch on Switch 2, Cyberpunk 2077 became the most unexpected system seller. Defying all expectations for a gritty RPG, it came at the top of the third-party sales charts, beating even the Witcher 3’s original Switch release.
