Realme 16 Pro+ Realme 16 Pro Review: A New Dawn for Realme

The only brands that have consistently launched smartphones in 2025 are Realme, one of the few brands to launch smartphones. The P-series, Number series, GT series and more have been updated several times we’ve seen it redesigned by . It is now kicking off 2026 with another Number series, and the company has started to introduce its new number. The company has launched the country’s Realme 16 Pro and RealME 16Pro+ smartphones, promising some decent upgrades over its predecessors. The company’s flagship-level treatment of this is also the first to receive such a series, whether it be Samsung’S 200MP ISOCELL HP5 sensor or redesigned design collaboration with Naoto Fukasawa.

The Realme 16 Pro+ price in India starts at Rs. Rs.16 Pro India is the start of Realme 16 Pro Indian price, 31,999. paraphrast 39,999 99,99. Both devices were used a long time for me, and here’s everything you need to know about them.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Design: Same Same Yet Different

  • Dimensions – Realme 16 Pro+ – 162.5 x 76.3 x 8.49mm
  • Weight – 203g (16 Pro+), 192g (16 Pro)
  • Colours – 16 Pro+ in Master Gold, Master Grey, Camellia Pink & 16Pro in Masters Gold and Master grey and Orchid Purple.

The design was not the first time Realme met with Naoto Fukasawa to develop a unique design language for both smartphones right from the word. The company earlier worked with the designer for its OG Realme GT line which led to quite different products. And so it is the brand that has launched a new Urban Wild concept for the Realme 16 Pro series.

realme 16 pro series 3 Realme 16 Pro Plus Realme 16 Pro

Realme 16 Pro Plus and Realme 16 Pro are available in trendy colours.

The rear chassis is made from renewable, plant-based straw materials and undergoes special treatment with a bio-derived, organic silicone for both smartphones. It makes the texture feel like a skin-soft, giving you silky when holding it in your hand. The panels feel very comfortable, cosy and secure when held in your hand by .

The Realme 16 Pro+ is available in three colours Master Gold, Master Grey and an India-exclusive Camellia Pink. Similarly, on the other hand, the Realme 16 Pro has the same Master Gold and Master Grey as the 16Pro+ but you get Orchid Purple instead of the Pink in the elder brother’s sister. I reviewed Master Gold for the Realme 16 Pro+ and Orchid Purple for The Realm 16 PRO, which is a very premium look.

realme 16 pro series 12 Realme 16 Pro Plus

The Realme 16 Pro+ Master Gold colour option is designed in collaboration with Naoto Fukusawa.

Both smartphones also have different design languages, according to . Realme 16 Pro+ has curved edges, while the 16Pro is flat-frame. The Realme 16 Pro+ has slightly curved edges on the frame, but is flat and very easy to hold in your hand without feeling too edgy. This soft-touch finish is a part of the back panel, which makes you feel like an earthy-like texture. I am impressed with the fact that it is stainless steel, which has been a part of the camera decor. It is a bit of smudge, but it also tends to be prone to stains.

realme 16 pro series 4 Realme 16 Pro

The Realme 16 Pro comes in three colour options.

In contrast, the Realme 16 Pro (against me) has a silky-glass-like finish that is also quite luxurious. This makes holding in your hand easier, as it is more likely to be held by the flat frame design of . FUN STORY The 16 Pro is thinner and lighter than its elder brother, too; Fun fact. The colour of Purple is subtle, and the camera module is raised and made of metal; this certainly looks interesting.

Most of these models, however notably both have IP68, IP69 and IP59K ratings; this means they can survive underwater with ease. In addition to this, IP69K rating means it can be used in water jets that are high pressure and hot. So, Surely, Realme has gone all-out with the design of both the Realm 16 Pro+ and RealME 16 PRO smartphones; they are among the best-designed Number series smartphones from the brand to date.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Display: Vibrant and Colourful

  • Display – 16 Pro+ – 6.8-inch AMOLED display & 16 Pro – 6.78-inch AMOLED display
  • Refresh Rate – 144Hz adaptive screen refresh rate (Both)
  • Other Features – 240Hz touch sampling rate, 100 percent DCI-P3, HDR10+, 6,500nits peak brightness (16 Pro+) & 1,400nit HBM brightness 16 Pro)

As soon as you see the show, you will notice a few big differences. The Realme 16 Pro+ has a 6 in the title. A resolution of 1280×2800 pixels is 8-inch HyperGlow 4D Curve+ AMOLED display with a resolution for the same. It is a continuation of the Realme 15 Pro display but with higher resolution and high brightness. It also leads to more punchy, vibrant colors that make media consumption a joyous experience.

realme 16 pro series 11 Realme 16 Pro series

The Realme 16 Pro series come with AMOLED display with 144Hz screen refresh rate.

144Hz screen refresh rate ensures smoother animation for all your time. I watched a couple of Anime on this smartphone and was happy with the colour output. There’s a good outdoor visibility, too, and I didn’t have to use it directly in direct sunlight (thanks to the 6,500 nits of peak brightness).

But the smartphone has an a flat display for those who don’t like curved smartphones, moving on to the Realme 16 Pro. A mellow down version of the elder brother’s display is 1272×2772 pixels resolution, and it has a resolution of 12. Despite the sharp, colourful display it is not as punchy as that shown in Realme 16 Pro+ on the show itself. Hence, the colour output and outdoor visibility are quite good.

In addition, you can also adjust the screen mode on both smartphones according to your taste by going to Settings > Display > Screen Colour Mode. Four options Vivid (default), Natural, Cinematic, Brilliant and Advanced Mode are available here. This allows you to choose between DCI-P3 and sRGB or tweak with the colour profile according to your requirements.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Software: Customisable

  • Software – Realme UI 7.0
  • Version – Android 16
  • Updates Promised – 3 Years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches

It is the latest Realme UI 7 for both smartphones, and runs the new Realm u7. The based is 0., which has been derived from Android 16. It’s the latest user interface that joins China’ based league of Chinese players who are heavily inspired by Apple’S Liquid Glass elements with its own interpretation of it.

Upon seeing this new lockscreen and customisable icons, the Realme Glass Design sure looks good. Nevertheless, to be honest, it still needs some refinement. In fact, to be honest, most of the implementation doesn’t look that great – especially when it comes to notification panels or third-party app support. In future updates, you should see better implementation of .

realme 16 pro series 7 Realme 16 Pro series

Both models run on Realme UI 7.0, which is based on Android 16 operating system.

As the smartphones move on, they also offer a suite of AI capabilities that the brand calls NextAI. Both models also have an AI Genie Suite for editing your images and videos with different effects. It is based on Google’s Camera Coach feature, and has its fair share of hits and misses but then there is an AI Framing Master (inspired by Google’s camera coach) that looks to be similar. Then there is AI Recording, AI Translate, Gemini Live and more features that work like they are intended to be.

Nevertheless, it has not been removed from the user interface to remove visible bloatware that was used by . Despite the slightly lower Pro+ variant’s bloatware ratio, both versions of these models still offer substantial blunder (even at this price point). You have the usual culprits in the form of Hot Apps and Hot Games, which are essential bloatware from the brand.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Performance: Gets the Job Done

  • Processor – 16 Pro+ – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 & 16 Pro – MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max
  • Memory – 16 Pro+ – Up to 12GB LPDDR5X & 16 Pro – Up to 12GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage – Up to 256GB UFS 3.1 (Both)

It’s what really makes the difference, when you come to the performance. Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processors are used in the Realme 16 Pro+ and MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max processor for RealME 16 PRO.

The Realme 16 Pro+, for example, uses the same chipset as the RealME 15 Pro and Realmme P4 Pro to start with. But the smartphone is usually a good device for everyday use, as it should be. Gaming If you’re going to be disappointed, the phone will run most of the high-end games like Call of Duty Mobile with Very High graphics and Max frame rate settings.

Interestingly, I didn’t notice any significant throttling or thermal problems during the long gameplay session. Despite the AirFlow VC Cooling system, it warms up but is not alarming at all because of the phone’s heating up (along with its own air flow) and does not heat up.

The smartphone is also good for everyday use, with the phone proving to be well-suited as being on the Realme 16 Pro. Whether you work with multiple apps or multitask the phone does well in this department.

Nevertheless, gaming is not as good for the smartphone’s performance than that of the Plus model when it comes to gaming. Unlike the elder brother, which has LPDDR5X RAM, Pro model features LDPDR4XRAM (a bit of an odd one), to be honest, considering the price difference is not that great between the two models.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Cameras: Good, if Not Great

realme 16 pro series 2 Realme 16 Pro series

The Realme 16 Pro+ features a triple-camera setup, while the Realme 16 Pro is available with dual rear cameras.

The Realme 16 Pro+ and the RealME 16 PRO are among the first smartphones in this series to receive a new 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor, coming with camera performance. But the Realme 16 Pro+ is treated here very differently. This phone also features a dedicated 50-megapixel periscope lens and an 8-MP ultra wide angle lenses with.

The smaller, however, has only an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. In addition, the company has introduced some cool features in the camera department. Most interesting is the new Vibrant and Natural modes of .

Realme 16 Pro Plus comes with Vibrant (below) and Natural (above) modes, which captures colours differently.

The Vibrant mode, as the name suggests, uses an algorithm to fine-tune the image; Natural mode captures natural colours. In addition, there is a Vibe Master Mode which you can use from the camera menu or simply swipe down on the shutter button. You can choose from 21 tones and access Pro settings easily with Vibe Master Mode, which allows you to use the same setting.

realme 16 pro ai style Oppo Reno 16 Pro Plus

This is followed by the introduction of new AI LightMe and AI StyleME features that essentially transforms your image with AI. My favourite is Window Shadow (which I personally like) and the AI LightMe provides four different lighting templates. With AI StyleMe, you can turn your photo into a professional-looking modelling photo shoot, make’minimum version or even 3D emoji’ in. In fact, the AI features are fun to use and actually enjoy.

So let’s get started with the camera performance of Realme 16 Pro+ now. Smartphone The smartphone takes good photos during the daytime. From the day to night, it is a good job for Realme 16 Pro+ to capture well-detailed images from the main sensor. These are generally crisp and full of details, with the pictures being usually a bit more detailed than . But I do feel that the fine-tuning is over a lot in some of the photos, which makes photos look too processed.

Nevertheless, the telephoto sensor provides better natural-looking photos in the daytime. These colours are a natural variation, and the range of dynamic is good. It was better than the main sensor, and I liked the telephoto lens more.

This is also a good wide-angle lens that gives decent results in the day. They are not as detailed, but they look good and still a decent photo like the two other sensors. Yet, the thing that bugged me was a lack of consistency between colour and sensor for different sensors. The colours of the telephoto are more accurate than that of other two sensors, so I have to choose then.”

The main sensor is good at taking photos, especially when it comes to low-light performance. But you still know that aggressive processing is working to reduce noise and deliver the best colours. In these cases, too, the pictures seemed a bit oversaturated for my liking.

Its retention of those natural elements is a slightly better job than the telephoto sensor, which retains that element in some ways. But, in some cases it is strange that the colours are a bit washed out (i.e.

The wide-angle lens does an above-average job in low-light conditions, with photos coming out to be a bit softly detailed.

From the rear camera, when it came to portraits they were not that consistent. Despite the company’s various focal lengths for portraits, there is an inconsistency of how skin tones and colours are captured at each different focallengths. For instance, if you have 1x or 1, so is that the ? A 5x portraits, slightly saturated in colours and too dark on skin tone are. With 3 – but with . The portraits look far more natural 5x or 4x, with 4X closest to the source of the portrait; a picture is much more naturally drawn. The bokeh effect is natural, although in all cases the.

Similarly, when the Realme 16 Pro moves to the smaller sibling, it misses out on a telephoto sensor so photos with zoom are basically from the main sensor (just zoomed in) and then moved into the primary sensor. The details are up to mark and the photos have good colours, but talking about the main sensor performance may have been a little better than the dynamic range. If you change the sensor zoom when you switch to 2x or 4x shots, it will be a limitation because the photos have slightly soft details than the usual 1x shot. Moreover, in the daytime and also during the daylight conditions, it is a good job for the wide-angle lens to do so. Yet colour tone of the wide-angle and primary sensors is slightly different.

If I switched to low-light conditions, the output was good with the main sensor. This sensor makes little noise when the lighting is high, and the details are kept in mind for photos taken with this sensor. However, in very low-light conditions you may hear the supposition of pictures for noise reduction and this usually means loss of detail. Honestly, the performance was average for low-light .

Both the Realme 16 Pro+ are good at capturing the details and skin tones as well as taking the selfie performance, especially when it comes to the actual face-off. bokeh effect looks natural, and the edge detection is also well done. It also gives good selfies in broad daylight, but is not as good as the Plus variant (against which he says it does) with Realme 16 Pro. Low-light selfies also came out, with some noise in the background of a low-lit selfie.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Battery: Decent

  • Battery Capacity – 7,000mAh
  • Wired Charging – 80W SuperVOOC

realme 16 pro series 8 Realme 16 Pro series

Both the models pack a 7,000mAh battery and comes with 80W fast charging support.

Initially with the Realme 16 Pro+, the smartphone had been on for a full day of moderate to heavy usage (some juice left at end of the day). PCMark’s Work Battery Life test showed the smartphone lasted 22 hours and xx minutes. A box-equipped 80W fast charger charged to charge the smartphone from 0 percent to 52 percent in 22 minutes, as it comes to the charging speed, and 56 minutes to fully charge.

However, a realme 16 pro is also battery-efficient and has good battery life as it moves on from the Realme 16, Pro. A normal handset can last up to 2 days without much trouble. A test for the PCMark Battery Life showed that the smartphone lasted 23 hours and 29 minutes, even more than Realme 16 Pro+ in its tests. Additionally, the charging speeds are also fast. The phone charged from 0 to 65 percent in 33 minutes, and 1 hour and 3 minutes to charge 100 percent.

Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro Verdict

realme 16 pro series 10 Realme 16 Pro series

The series’s successors, the Realme 16 Pro, does offer some interesting improvements over its predecessors to end. design, the Realme 16 Pro+ carries on with its punch. A gold color colour option, meanwhile still keeping that unique proposition in mind, looks and feels premium. The smartphone’s performance is good, but the display is yet another big-brand of its own right – and it’s still decent. In order to solve overprocessing problem, the camera needs minor improvements. But the battery life is equal to that of the rest of competition,’ .

This device is a more practical device, which has been designed for everyday use as it comes to the Realme 16 Pro and will be available in real life. This is a high quality, silky design that you still get and the flat frame makes it easier to hold in your hand as well. Despite the quality of performance, it is good to see and perform well (if not great) but somewhat decent. The cameras are consistent in both daylight and low light, according to . It will be a tough competition,’ said , and it would be interesting to see how other brands can match rising component prices and price their smartphones in the right way.
