The Q1 figures are out and will be things of beauty! The tech duke has discharged its Q1 results displaying an incredible Rs. 1.31 lakh crore of revenues for January-March. Just dazzling really; more like record-breaking. For the second-straight quarter, Xiaomi has broken the Rs. 1.2 lakh crore barrier, thus establishing that their presence is nothing short of permanent. But with all that going for them, the most staggered 47.4% year-on-year growth makes it really stand high amongst others. The new high was also achieved in adjusted net profit: Rs. 12,680 crore – the growth of 64.5 per cent from last year. Otherwise stated, Xiaomi is not merely passing; it’s winning the game.

Xiaomi Credits Premiumisation Strategy for Strong Revenue Numbers

Xiaomi, countering all newly created market headwinds, announced a very profitable 1st quarter of 2025 with revenue surging across the divisions. The muchobscured secret? “Premiumisation” working in its stride. No longer are budget phones selling; highmargin premium devices are what Xiaomi wants and this seems to be the ideal solution to satisfy consumers who have showered the releases of their extraclass flagship phones with praises.

The company witnessed a steep rise in smartphone sales, scaling sales by 8.9% year-over-year to Rs. 59,961 crore. The main factor accounting for this growth was the February launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the sales of which shattered its predecessor’s by 90%. The spectacular growth shot the average selling price of a smartphone for the company to an all-time high Rs. 14,372 in Q1 2025.

The flow of smart home ambitions in Xiaomi fueled a 58.7%-growth to Rs. 38,276 crore as compared to last year. Washing machines and refrigerators held the baton in the IoT and smart home division. On the other hand, Xiaomi’s forays into EVs, AI, and other innovation-based projects raked in revenues of Rs. 22,041 crore. The spotlight comes upon Xiaomi SU7 Series, with 75,869 units shipped, marking a powerful entry for Xiaomi into the EV world.

The forever upward rally never ceases! The last data sets show 41.8 million smartphones shipped, representing theseventhconsecutive quarter of year-over-year increase. And the story is not volume. Canalys (now Omdia) has shown Xiaomi holding the top three positions in the global market for 19 consecutive quarters with an average market share of 14.1%. Literally, Xiaomi is rewriting the rules of the game with which it plays.

The smart-home arm of Xiaomi is shaping up to be a cash cow, with air conditioners flying off the shelves, having surpassed sales of 1.1 million units, an outrageous jump of 65% year-over-year. But the cool air seems to flow in more directions. Xiaomi sold 880,000 refrigerators and 740,000 washing machines to strengthen its hold in the connected home space.

Tablet shipments from Xiaomi for the world soared by a ravaging 56.1% from the previous year, but the exact numbers are kept under the secrecy pact. Other than tablets, the AIoT ecosystem is booming for Xiaomi. A huge 19.3 million people now orchestrate five or more devices (minus conventional ones such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops) via Xiaomi’s platform, which makes this a 26.5% increase. Their Mi Home App has 106.4 million active users every month-a 19.5% rise, whereas the AI Assistant helps 146.7 million users each month-a 17.5% growth.
