Adobe’s New Firefly AI Assistant Can Perform Complex Design Tasks With Text Prompts

On Wednesday, Adobe introduced the Firefly AI Assistant, an agentic conversational chatbot that can perform complex design tasks, which is a feature of its newer counterparts. The assistant, which is also able to analyse and act on natural language prompts, can be used inside the Firefly platform and connected to the Creative Cloud apps. According to the company, “the tool will help creators automate creative workflows while keeping context in mind.” It will soon be released in beta, and will feature the company at its next Adobe Summit 2026 presentation.

Adobe Unveils Firefly AI Assistant

The software giant announced the new agentic AI chatbot, Firefly AI Assistant, in a blog post. In the past, it’s a suite of AI capabilities that has been developed by the company’s Firefly platform where users can choose and select the feature and its associated model according to their preference. The new assistant now adds an agentic conversational layer, where users can just command the chatbot and will be able to select the best tools for completeing the actions.

The biggest advantage of the Firefly AI Assistant is its integration across the Creative Cloud apps, including FireFly, Photoshop and Premiere, Lightroom, Express, Illustrator (and other applications). Since the tool can handle multi-step workflows, users may ask it to build the entire project and then manually make changes as they need.

It also asks the user contextual questions, surfaces decisions and offers suggestions to help them in their work process. Adobe emphasizes that users can interrupt the assistant at any time to guide, refine or adjust outputs. Adobe has also added a library of Creative Skills, pre-built workflows that the user can use with one command. In some of these, users can retouch portrait photos or create content on other social networks.

Adobe also has a system to allow the Firefly AI Assistant to receive feedback on its work. In Frame, the company says that the assistant can share work in frame. Recommendants, collaborators and reviewers can also submit reviews of the io. The changes will be automatically applied to the agentic chatbot by automatic application of the changes, which is then used in a manner known as .

The Firefly AI Assistant will be available in public beta in Firefly in the coming weeks.
