YouTubes New Option Lets Users Effectively Turn Off Shorts From Their Feed

YouTube has launched a new feature that allows users to effectively disable Shorts on the mobile app. The update adds a zero-minute option to the Shorts feed timer, as well as an additional Zero-Minute. YouTube Shorts Timer Now Lets Users Disable Feed

As part of parental controls, the platform had previously introduced a YouTube Shorts timer as an option for users to limit viewing from 15 minutes to two hours. Following this period, it was a reminder to stop scrolling on the app. The new update allows users to set the limit of “0 minutes”, effectively turning off the Shorts feed on the home screen with the latest update.

Users can set a daily limit on how long they scroll on Shorts, and then ‘follow up with. an alert that users are told to scroll for the entire day is stopped by paused Scrolling,’ YouTube said. This is paused immediately after setting on zero (i.e. Shorts will no longer appear in the feed when they are set to zero).
