Anthropic Introduces Claude Design an AI Tool to Generate Visual Prototypes and Pitch Decks

On Friday, Anthropic launched a new product focused on design and visual outputs. The Anthropic Labs’ new creation, dubbed Claude Design, is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool that generates website mockups, design prototypes and slides, one-pagers and more from the same natural-language prompt. Editable outputs are editable, and the user can control (and refine) the final version with multiple tools available in experience. However, with this release Anthropic is now battling alongside design platforms like Figma.

Claude Design was the company’s latest AI product, which it said in a newsroom post that “is the most recent AI thing to be done by this firm” (in its new products). A thropic has slowly added visual components to its site, which is gradually adding elements of the word “Anthrop”. Its Claude Code could already create the frontend of websites and apps, adding interactive charts and visualisations to responses last month.

But the AI company has a single, design-focused tool that can handle frontends, slides, designs mockups and pitch decks (including presentations) and more — now with Claude Design. It is currently in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise subscribers. It has not been said whether it will be expanded to those on the free tier, but is unclear whether this would apply to s.

Once output is ready, users can refine the visual asset with additional prompts, inline comments, direct edits or custom sliders. In the same organisation it is a collaborative platform, whereby multiple users of the site can see or change the design.

The AI tool, according to Anthropic, can be used to create interactive prototypes from static mockups, product wireframes and explore various design directions, develop on-brand pitch decks & presentations, draft marketing material and social media assets as well as more. Claude Design, for example, also provides flexibility to users users can start from a text prompt, upload images and documents or create the output according to their codebase.

The final output can also be shared as an internal URL, saved as a folder or exported to Canva, PDF, PPTX and standalone HTML files. Additionally, as mentioned above, the project can also be remitted to an editor called Claude Code (which may write backend with one instruction by using context from the design asset).
