Bloodborne Animated Film Adaptation in the Works at Sony

Although it is unlikely that Sony will ever release a Bloodborne remake or sequel, the company has been developing an animation movie adaptation of popular FromSoftware action-RPG. Sony announced at CinemaCon this week that an R-rated animated film adaptation of Bloodborne is under development, announcing the release of its newer movie adaption to bloodborne. Jacksepticeye will be a producer on the project, which is popular YouTuber JackSeptic eye.

While details of the film are still under wraps, a faithful version would be depicted as ‘A Hunter walking through the streets of Yharnam, an urban Gothic-style labyrinthian city infesteD with monsters.

Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group at CinemaCon, said the movie’s animated Bloodborne film will “stay true” to the gory spirit of the game.

No Bloodborne Remake Yet

For years, gamers have clamoured for a Bloodborne remake or sequel of the game but there has been no word from Sony or FromSoftware on the same. The now shuttered Bluepoint Games reportedly pitched a Bloodborne remake to Sony in early 2025 after its live service God of War project was cancelled, although it did not receive the green light from PlayStation parent.
