Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Review: A Brand-New Fusion but Can It Be an All-Rounder?

The mid range, or the sub-Rs) are a . There has been a lot of action recently in the 30,000 smartphone segment, which is known as . The ongoing memory crisis, where previously launched devices suffered a small price drop, partly to the extent that they are out of the sub-Rs, is part of this. , 25,000 segment to the sub Rs. 30,000 segment, paraphrasing. Then there are the new smartphones launched with the price-cutting of the memory crisis in mind. While it is a tougher time for smartphone brands to deliver good, value-for-money products under Rs. It’s a simple trick for s to focus on the basics that made the segment so much of it, 30,000 this year.

In India’s mid-range smartphone segment, the focus has traditionally been more about design than innovation or raw performance. While camera performance, as well as the ability to perform at mid-range functions, was a key feature of its popularity in recent years has been losing importance for better battery life and larger or faster displays. The new Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is based on this philosophy behind the philosophy of its launch, which was launched in September. A new design, one that’s in line with skinny Edge 70 and the Signature, is a refreshing addition to its overall approach; it attempts to offer more value by adopting an updated camera sensor (and even extending battery life) as well as introducing fewer cameras. Does this make sense for the competition? Is the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion the next mid-range all-rounder we have been awaiting?

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Design: Fresh and Compelling

  • Dimensions – 162.76 x 75.60 x 7.99mm
  • Weight – 193g
  • Durability – IP68+IP69, MIL-STD 810H

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is a major departure from previous Fusion models, and the newer Fusion model will be an upgrade to its predecessors. But it’s a new design, even with the recently released mid-range Edge 70 and the flagship Signature model. The camera module on the rear of its device is like the above-mentioned devices, but gives a little more variation with new finishes and textures. its front and rear panel are rounded, “quad-curved” appearance. It is a look and feel quite different from its recent offerings, with this as well as displaying ‘quad-curved displays’.

A fairly slim and rounded design, not only looks great but feels comfortable to hold the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.

At MWC 2026, the handset was announced in two variants and presented with a handset called “the handset”. A thinner version (for European markets) of the Edge 70 Fusion (a smaller 5,200mAh battery), a thicker variant, with 7,000mAh batteries (in India) was also available.

The Edge 70 Fusion, which is still a bit slimmer (7.5%) thinner than the one in India that s are available today. The Edge 60 Fusion (8mm) is 99mm). The battery is bigger, but s are 25mm (although they have a larger battery). This segment is now characterized by the silicon-carbon battery technology that has become so slim, for example, it uses such an attractive profile as its slim profile. But the Edge 70 Fusion is not as skinny as the edge 70 (5) – but it’s slimer than the original Edge70. 99mm) – .

I’m not a fan of the Pantone Blue Surf with its rough fabric finish

The Edge 70 Fusion is a quad-curved model with its similarities, though I love the comparisons aside. The corners of it are wider, and although its quad-curved front and rear panels do not make the top and bottom sides of its frame curved, the sides flat. The device does not dig into your palm because of this, and provides good edges for holding onto the side. its weight, which has also risen by 12 grams (13 grams) of . Despite the higher battery capacity and the fact that the phone has expanded wider than the previous model, due to extensive polycarbonate use, it keeps things light.’ The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion’s weight gain isn’t noticeable as its newer version of the device does not appear to be an obvious exception because there was no way to see what would have been more difficult for this type of smartphone inflicted on their phones (along with some other models) but still remains visible from the same screen when using high-quality poly carbonate at least one point where they are used by them without any further downhill or “distribution” which makes matters such devices.” Basically, it doesn’t feel as heavy as it looks like that of .

I have been reviewing the Pantone Blue Surf finish. It’s very a bit rough fabric finish, which was really synthetic and reminded me of Apple’t tried its try-too with its overpriced Finewoven accessories that didn’t feel premium or were too expensive. It will also be stained with rough use and I hope this one gets sprayed over, too.’ ‘I think it is going to get very hard for me to say sorry about the same thing as that of my paraphrast who was used in her last year. With their grippy textures, the Pantone Silhouette (and PantONE Country Air) are certainly more appealing. Motorola says all of these finishes or colours can be waterproof under water submersion, but don’t expect it to be covered under warranty.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Display: Big and Bright

  • Display size – 6.8-inch, 1,272 x 2,772 pixels, 450 PPI
  • Display type – 10-bit, AMOLED, 144Hz (60-90-120Hz)
  • Display protection – Corning Gorilla Glass 7i

Hopefully, the display under the quad-curved glass does not aggressively curve towards the sides of the displays. While it has a curved glass screen, its outside-out reflections are some unneeded reflection on the inside of the rounded edges. It’s not a problem, as these are so bright enough to tackle the afternoon sun and can be seen comfortably outside in this environment. The borders are skinny too, but more on the sides versus top and bottom border.

While Motorola claims its display can be 144Hz, in our testing the system only maintains 60, 90 and 120Hz refresh rates (see Developer options) during this process. Smart and balanced mode The refresh rate reaches 60Hz in the absence of use, cranks up to 90 or 120Hz (depending on the app) while it is still at work. Similarly, it settles at 60Hz in Hyper smooth mode (although when used across apps), cranks up to 120Hz. The latter provides more accurate visuals when interacting with the software, in fact, as it does.

The Edge 70 Fusion has a quad-curved display that gets sufficiently bright outdoors

Motorola says the device supports HDR10+, but I couldn’t find any supported content on Netflix (also lacked official support) when writing this review. The same applies to the YouTube app, which displays HDR options (under quality), but it did not appear bright and contrasted on display. The device supports Widevine L1 and was sharp enough to make standard definition content look sharp.

The Fusion’s display did not detect any fingerprints or smudges during the review, but unlike flat displays, you will not be able to apply a screen protector to it if you are the clumsy type of person.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Software: Intuitive but Intrusive

  • Android version – 16
  • Software – Hello UI
  • Software commitment – 3 years of OS updates + 5 years of SMRs

The software experience of Motorola seems quite slick and Spartan-like, with its software history. This would be the place for stock Android users to think it is everything. So, if you stick to the Hyper smooth screen refresh rate mode, it’s Smoothness. Every year, however it is a bit more of bloat with . Although the review was not greeted with spammy notifications during the Indus Appstore (also on Xiaomi devices) has arrived here, I’m sure it is.

Another ‘App picks’ feature also connects itself to the app drawer as well as a new option for its own ‘Additional App Picks. While it encourages users to download apps from an external source, I agreed with its terms and tapped on this icon (inscribed by a bottom-facing arrow) that was the only one I received was ‘a transparent window which blocked access to the apps in the app drawer’. This overlay is closed by swiping back or hitting the back navigation key, which restores access to the app drawer.

I’ve referred to this in previous Motorola reviews, but the app drawer still keeps showing a ‘Newsfeed’ tab is annoying. It doesn’t get in your way until you activate it, thankfully, that does not. Alternatively, you may even hide this ‘Newsfeed’ tab from the App drawer’s ‘Smart Tray’ settings. This is where you can also disable the ‘App picks’ option, but both of these annoyances are automatically turned off by default.

Motor, for instance, provides a host of AI tools and options; some of these (like AI-based image editing) are handled by Google. The preinstalled version of Microsoft’s Copilot is also optional, Perplexity AI and now a option. Motorola’s Moto AI comes with the mid-range handset and the rest of its Moto suite of apps, but it doesn’t provide a dedicated button as in more expensive phones.

Moto AI has smashed the clock as well as it did when it launched midway last year, but is much faster in response time than before. But it still does not have the deeper integration like Google’s Gemini, which cannot find or execute commands to change system settings (even if it can understand them) Now, Microsoft’s Copilot Vision is integrated with the Moto AI interface. We tried it out, but the results were not true. Google’s Gemini Live is certainly a better option with more accurate results than Google.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Performance: Capable Performance

  • Processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 2.7GHz, 4nm
  • RAM – 8/12GB, LPDDR5
  • Storage – 128/256GB

Despite Hello UI running smoothly with no visible hiccups, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion isn’t a performer (see table below) as it can be seen from the bottom of the table. In fact, it is actually the weakest device against which s are hacked.

At Low settings, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion can barely handle heavy 3D games such as Genshin Impact. This is the best choice for running casual games and simpler titles like Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) that can be played at Low graphics and Ultra framerates (90 fps) with no problem, given its relatively low processing power. CODM also performed well at High Graphics and Max fps (60 mp) in high graphics and max. mphs).

good audio quality,’ said . The stereo speaker system is very loud, and Dolby Atmos provides immersive sound both when playing games and watching videos.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Cameras: Not Bad at All

  • Primary camera – 50-megapixel, f/1.8, PDAF, OIS
  • Ultrawide camera – 13-megapixel, f/2.2, PDAF, 120-degree
  • Selfie camera – 32-megapixel, f/2.2, FF

The primary camera gets a new sensor and a brighter aperture

This year, Moto’s camera experience in its Edge 70 Fusion has been upgraded to this year’ – the first time it can be seen by an eyewitness device manufacturer. A new Sony LYTIA-710 sensor is supporting the main camera with a brighter aperture, but the rest of hardware remains the same as before.

The performance of the ultrawide camera is far from impressive, however, and a low-budget one can expect. While a wider, over-exaggerated field of view is provided by the photos, it shows very visible purple fringing around bright spots when shooting outdoors with light. It is so bad that it can even colour parts of the picture with such a fringing in purple. It’s quite average and doesn’t even meet expectations at this price point as for textures and detail. A very aggressive noise cancellation in low-light or street-lit settings is blotchy textures, and can be caused by noise cancelling. A good Dynamic range but there’s aggressive processing that causes distorted patches around complicated patterns.

The ultrawide camera, thankfully, also serves a second function – macro photography. And out here it is better, a good detail and an easy way to get closer to your subject than the main camera will allow you.

I was a little better from the main camera because it is the one that has been upgraded this year and did not disappoint. The photos are good dynamic range in daylight, so that the shadows of a given image is well detailed; however, at times it can overexpose the bright parts of an image. Natural colours, sharpness and colour. It also provides good detail and edge detection for portrait mode photos taken with this camera, which is used to capture the image in Portrait mode. A low-light photo shows natural colours, and dynamic range is handled well. The noise is controlled, and the images are detailed, provided there is enough ambient light. When a picture is dimly lit, it tends to appear soft in the dark.

At this price point, 2X digital crops also provide good detail in daylight and can be used in low-light settings (slightly softer images).

A good selfie camera does well in the day, with decent detail and a good job at daylight. a bit of sharpening, but does not go overboard.’ . A good range of Dynamic is also available, and edge detection is correct. Dynamic range is fine, but when shooting in low light it cannot be able to extract much detail; this makes the face textures flattened.

Surprisingly good video quality from the main camera is if you stick to 4K resolution (which is 30 fps)? It is a camera with good detail and high dynamic range, focus in daylight fast; the bitrate is steady (but not smoothest)). The video captured in low-light settings is slightly more pronounced (albeit with somewhat less focus) than the one that has been captured, but otherwise quite usable.

The 1080p video recordings do not have the sharper detail of the 4K setting. This is a weird bug in the 1080p 60 fps setting where camera defaults to infinity focus. No work either is Tapping on screen to adjust or reset the focus, nor does it work as a .

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Battery: A Lot Better Than Before

  • Battery capacity – 7,000mAh, silicon-carbon (li-ion)
  • Wired charging – 68W
  • Charger in the box – Yes

Its battery is the largest and most noticeable upgrade to the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion’s biggest, if any, update. Motorola has shifted from 5,500mAh battery to significantly larger 7,000mAh this year. The PCMark Work Battery Life test was our standard one, and the device did a good 21 hours and 57 minutes of continuous use. Similarly, in contrast, the previous Edge 60 Fusion model was only tested for 13 hours under the same conditions; there are indeed very noticeable improvements in battery life. A daily use of the Edge 70 Fusion can be a long-lasting, effective solution for an intense usage day with heavy consumption. As long as casual users can survive up to two days of battery life if they do not use the camera and don’t play games.

And when the battery dies, charging it with the bundled charger is very fast. Charge Boost The phone was able to charge the battery up to 69 percent in 30 minutes and completed charging within 54 minutes with the Charge boost feature activated.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Verdict

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is a fine line, indeed, but it does seem to be an all-rounder. A new style is provided by it; an processor that can handle the needs of casual users, great speakers and a good display. The main camera is used by its primary camera, and battery life is excellent as well.

Last year the Edge 60 Fusion was its main rival, with The Edge 6 being the top competitor of the edge 60. Motorola appears to be sorting out this year between its siblings by introducing the super slim design for the Edge 70, which also led to slightly lower camera performance than the older Edge 60. With the sibling rivalry now sorted, Edge 70 Fusion (from Rs. But it can finally be the’short and low-budget to mid-range option’ for buyers of the brand, with 26,999) stretching its legs.

But we can’t forget last year’s Edge 60 Pro by Motorola, which is still on sale and offers much more value at an extra Rs. 3000(R) (Rs) – . 29999). So if you have the extra money, then we would recommend getting the Edge 60 Pro instead (while stocks last)

This year, the Phone 4a was promoted to the top end of this year’s mid-range as nothing’S Phone 3a is no longer. Also in terms of similar alternatives, there’s the OnePlus Nord CE 5 (from Rs. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex processor, which is better for the gaming crowd (and everyone else) and should I buy 24,999), as it’s an option to use with its GameTek dimenson 835 ApEx. Also cheaper, the phone offers as good battery life but only one bottom-firing speaker (a deal-breaker for some people) may be a bargain-wracked device that could also be an issue with certain phones.

The Realme P4 Power (from Rs. This price point will still be the fair share of buyers for 27,999) with its mega powerbank-like 10,001mAh battery. The Realme P4 Pro also performs when it comes to its display (HDR10+ support) and gaming, where the Motorola is a step short of expectations. But its camera performance was a little under the mark for .
