The files of Resident Evil Requiem were compiled by X user @MasyaSYRKOV datamined ResIDENT Evil REQUIEv to find pieces of music related to a “future mode / Mercenaries” (via IGN) game. These leaked tracks contain tense high-tempo music that suggests they may be backing tracks for an imminent Mercenaries mode. In some of the tracks, there is also a ticking clock that further indicates at timesd arcade mode to Resident Evil Requiem.

In the Resident Evil series, a repeat arcade minigame is called the Mercenaries mode (introduced in ResIDENT Evil 3) and it has been introduced as an ongoing Minigame for arcades. A large part of the arcade mode is that players must dispatch hordes of enemies within a time limit and reach highscore on leaderboard. Resident Evil 4 and 5 were also based on the mode in which they were paraphrased.

A story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem was being developed last month, Capcom said in a statement released by CapCom. The expansion will likely be a later release of the game, but more content is being produced for the games. Capcom said it was working on new in-game content, including a popular photo mode.

However, game director Koshi Nakanishi confirmed that a mini game was coming to Requiem in May as well. It may be the Mercenaries mode of this mini game, as it could be called.
