God of War Spinoff Game Will Reportedly Feature Tyr Explore Multiple Mythologies

Sony Santa Monica studio is said to be working on several projects, including one of which a God of War spinoff with Faye as the hero – was leaked earlier this year. Now, a new report has revealed some of the game’s details including – one of its main characters — another key character. In addition to the Faye, Kratos’ wife from the Norse saga of God of War, the game will also be played with Tyr, who is said to have been the norser god of war in God Of War Ragnarok.

God of War Spinoff to Explore Multiple Mythologies

An MP1st report, citing the author of an older report about a possible God of War prequel, says that the game will have two main characters Faye and Tyr. In a recent Reddit comment, the author of the original FandomWire report claimed that in one new article.

In the God of War spinoff/ prequel, Kratos will not be featured in The God Of War but the titular Spartan hero could appear in the game.

Faye and Tyr appeared in God of War Ragnarok, the latter briefly seen in flashback scenes with Kratos as well as Tyr. Conversely, Tyr was an important (albeit unplayable) character in the game.

Moreover, players will apparently be able to explore several mythologies (including Mayanan) in the new game. The MP1st report suggests the God of War spinoff may contain East-Asian mythologies, based on elements from Chinese and Japanese mythology.

However, this (of course) is not confirmed information; neither Sony nor Santa Monica has revealed the game or its details. But God of War director Cory Barlog has previously said the franchise could explore other mythologies after Greek and Norse sagas.

According to Barlog’s next game is the God of War spinoff title with Faye as the main character. A former Santa Monica Studio employee’s LinkedIn profile was a source for details of the project that emerged earlier this year, saying she worked on the story behind he created – and is believed to have developed an “new franchise within the God of War universe” (the new series). – ’.

More details of the project were uncovered, with an industry source saying that Faye would be the main character in the game. Also, tipsters said the gameplay in the reported God of War spinoff would likely be a departure from the Norse God Of War games (more about action like Devil May Cry series).

It is said that this year, it will reveal the new God of War title and release in first half of 2027 unless delayed.
