Google Chrome Gets AI Mode Update With Side-by-Side Browsing Contextual Search Tools

Google released updates to AI Mode in Google Chrome on Thursday. The new features in the browser, according to the tech giant Mountain View, are designed to make search more fluid and context-aware. The search and browsing are being incorporated more closely by Google as they integrate with the site, which is paraphrasing. This lets users interact with web pages and AI-generated responses side by side. AI Mode will also be able to gather context from multiple sources for more contextual responses with the latest changes.

But the tech giant says this system uses both on-page context and broader web data to generate answers for a more continuous research experience on the web.

The side-by-side interface was useful for concentrating, especially when working through long articles or videos, according to Google.

In the same way, they will now be able to search multiple sources without breaking their flow for informational questions. Whether reading about topics such as motorsports teams or more technical subjects, users browse related pages in parallel while using AI Mode to provide contextual answers.

In addition to this, Google is also expanding AI Mode’s ability to pull context from multiple sources. That means that it includes open tabs, images and documents. The Chrome search interface allows users to access a new + menu in the user’s browser, which adds recent tabs or files to their query for more contextual searches.

The new Google Chrome search experience also adds AI Mode tools such as Canvas and image generation to more parts of the browser for easy access via a variety of available features.

Currently in the US, all of these features are being implemented and will soon be expanded to more areas over the next few months.
